Virat Kohli in action for Delhi

A fresh update from the BCCI ahead of India’s team selection for the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand has already created massive buzz. Most of the Indian stars have cleared the fitness test, but the absence of Virat Kohli from the fitness report shocked one and all.

As reported by Dainik Jagran’s Abhishek Tripathi, the BCCI released the fitness test report on January 2, which confirmed that Rohit Sharma is fully fit and available for selection.

Along with Rohit, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, Tilak Varma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Prasidh Krishna have all been declared fit.

But the absence of Virat Kohli’s name from the report stunned everyone, as he was firing all the guns in his recent outings in the 50-over format both for India and Delhi at the Vijay Hazare Trophy. There was no mention of Kohli in the fitness update, but his name was available in the list of players available for selection for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.

Star batter Shreyas Iyer is also set for a Vijay Hazare Trophy comeback on January 6.
