Tim David’s Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) season has come to an early and disappointing end, creating fresh concern for both the Hobart Hurricanes and Australian cricket. The hard-hitting batter has been ruled out of the rest of the BBL 2025-26 after suffering a hamstring injury.
This setback has now put David’s availability for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in doubt. The power hitter sustained the hamstring injury during Hobart Hurricanes’ Big Bash League match against the Perth Scorchers on Friday, December 26.
Tim David’s BBL Season Ends in Heartbreak After Hamstring Injury
While trying to push for a second run, David felt pain in his hamstring. Realizing something was wrong, he chose to retire hurt straight away to avoid making the injury worse. At that moment, there was still some hope that the damage might not be serious.
Those hopes ended after medical scans were completed. The scans confirmed a hamstring strain, and as a result, David has been ruled out of the remainder of the BBL season, as reported by Code Sports.
