The Board of Control for Cricket in india (BCCI) has announced the 15-member squad for the IND vs NZ ODI series. The three-match series, which marks India’s first in 2026, will get underway from January 11 onwards.

India squad for IND vs NZ ODIs

India cricket team odi vice-captain Iyer has been named in the squad. However, his inclusion is subject to the Mumbai batter getting a fitness clearance from the BCCI’s CoE. As per The Indian Express, Iyer had informed Mumbai Cricket Association that he is expected to get the clearance on Saturday.

India have made some considerable changes to their squad from the one that played in the South Africa series. Players who are dropped include Ruturaj Gaikwad, Dhruv Jurel, Tilak Varma. Meanwhile, Siraj – who was last seen in action in the IND vs AUS ODI series – returns to the 50-ball setup.

Meanwhile, Pant – who was a part of the IND vs SA series but warmed the bench throughout – has been retained in the side, perhaps as the second choice keeper. The selectors have also persisted with Jaiswal as the backup opener.

The BCCI justified Hardik Pandya’s exclusion from the squad for the IND vs NZ ODI series, stating that, “Hardik Pandya has not been cleared by the BCCI COE to bowl 10 overs in a match, and considering the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to follow, his workload is being managed. “
