Devendra Bora Took Rohit Sharma S Wicket

Uttarakhand pacer Devendra Bora made headlines in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 after dismissing Rohit Sharma for a golden duck in the group-stage match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Bora became one of the few bowlers in world cricket to remove the Indian star without conceding a run.

On Friday, December 26, Rohit looked to attack from the very start but mistimed his shot. The pacer who dismissed him went on to finish with figures of 3 for 74. Despite Rohit’s early exit, Mumbai posted a total of 331 for 7, with 93 from Hardik Tamore and half-centuries from Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan.

Rohit Sharma walked into the match with everything going his way. He had scored 155 runs against Sikkim, and fans expected another big knock at the same venue. However, the match turned into a disappointment for the crowd and supporters.

Devendra Bora, playing only his third List A game, struck in the opening over after his team chose to bowl. Rohit went for his trademark pick-up pull but failed to connect cleanly and was caught at deep square leg by Jagmohan Nagarkoti.

The atmosphere was buzzing when Uttarakhand opted to field after winning the toss. Rohit came out to bat alongside young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

In his second List A outing this season, he picked up four wickets against Himachal Pradesh. He delivered again in the ongoing match against Mumbai with a three-wicket haul, including the prized early dismissal of Rohit Sharma.

It is worth mentioning that all of Bora’s List A matches so far have been played at the same ground – the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
