Shubman Gill Fights With Umpires Abhishek Sharma Intervenes

Shubman Gill lost his cool and had a furious exchange with the on-field umpires during the match between Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday (May 2).

The incident took place in the 14th over when Prasidh Krishna was bowling to Abhishek Sharma. On the fourth ball of the over, Prasidh bowled a yorker, and the ball went on to hit Abhishek on the pad.

Gill was not happy with the 3rd umpire’s decision

The left-handed batsman wanted to play a flick shot but could not make any contact with the ball.

The Gujarat Titans players appealed for an LBW, but the on-field umpire gave his decision in the batsman’s favour.

The bowling team was convinced that it was out, and they decided to review the decision. However, the replays showed that the ball had pitched outside the leg.

The impact was the umpire’s call, although the ball was hitting the stumps. As a result, Abhishek was adjudged not out while Gujarat Titans did not lose the review.

However, Shubman Gill was not at all happy with something during the entire episode and did not shy away from venting his frustration. The Gujarat Titans skipper animatedly charged towards the umpire before having a heated exchange with them.

Abhishek Sharma tried to calm down Shubman

The two on-field umpires were then seen having a discussion before explaining something to Shubman Gill. However, the Indian star was in no mood to calm down before Abhishek intervened and tried to bring the situation under control.

Gill was furious with the review as there was a glitch with the ball-tracking. The ball-tracking did not show where the ball pitched, and just showed impact and wickets.
