Ravindra Jadeja introduced in the 58th over on Day 3

England started Day 3 with a total of 209 runs on the board at the loss of three wickets and with Ollie Pope (100*) and Harry Brook (0*) unbeaten in the middle.

Pope and Brook looked good together in the middle, but the former fell in the 52nd over while playing a poor shot, finishing with 106 runs off 137 balls, with 14 fours.

On the first ball of the over, Prasidh Krishna bowled a nothing delivery outside off-stump and Ollie Pope edged it behind, with Rishabh Pant taking an easy catch. After Pope walked back to resounding applause, England skipper Ben Stokes walked out in the middle.

Stokes started off his innings cautiously against India before being involved in a collision with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The incident unfolded in the 58th over when the all-rounder was brought in to bowl his spin for the first time on Day 3, with one slip and a catching cover.

Jadeja, who had the figures of 9.0-2-25-0 on Day 2, bowled a flat delivery to Harry Brook on off-stump, who nudged it towards mid-on for a quick single.

As Ben Stokes started running from the non-striker’s end, Ravindra Jadeja went towards his right in order to stop the ball, and he collided with Ben Stokes. Thankfully, the collision was not an ugly one, and the players were totally safe with nothing major happening.
