Shubman Gill livid at match officials after controversial run out
Shubman Gill was at his stunning best in Ahmedabad on Friday. The GT skipper dazzled with a fine 76 with the bat after being put into bat by Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 25-year-old was aggressive with the bat and had a fiery dialogue with the match officials. The incident occurred in the 13th over of the GT vs SRH clash. Gill was adjudged run out in a controversial decision. Replays showed that Heinrich Klaasen might have knocked the bails too early with his gloves. The third umpire however deemed it out.
The decision did not sit well with Shubman Gill. The Gujarat Titans skipper dialogued with the fourth umpire beyond the boundary line. Gill was seen arguing animatedly, livid at the decision of him being adjudged out.
Gill miffed with DRS call
Shubman was miffed after another umpire’s call did not go his way in Ahmedabad. In the SRH innings, Abhishek Sharma was trapped by a yorker. The GT skipper called for a review, with the replays showing the impact to be the umpire’s call. While Abhishek got treated on his foot, Gill was not convinced and spoke to the umpires.
During the review, an issue with the technology did not show the pitch, just the impact and whether or not it hit the stumps. Both umpires tried to calm Gill down, with even Abhishek chipping in. The 25-year-old’s behaviour is likely to earn him some demerit points, and a hefty fine.
