Sunrisers Hyderabad will face an uphill task in taking down an in-form Gujarat Titans as the two sides meet in Ahmedabad on Friday. Pat Cummins and co. enjoyed a mid-season break and jetted off to Maldives for a retreat following their win against CSK last week. SRH find themselves in a very tough spot in the playoffs race and aren’t guaranteed to make it to the top four even if they win all their remaining matches.

No room for misfiring Kishan

SRH are expected to drop an underperforming Kishan from their playing XI. The southpaw has struggled to deliver after a century in his maiden outing for Cummins and co. He has managed to amass just 183 runs from 9 matches, out of which he has six single digit scores. Besides, he has a poor record against the spin duo of Rashid Khan and Washington Sundar, which might force Cummins to think twice before naming him in the playing XI.

Kishan could pave way for the inclusion of Smaran Ravichandran in the XI. The Karnataka batter was named as an injury replacement in the SRH squad mid-way through IPL 2025. He enjoyed a prolific run in the domestic circuit and earned himself a call-up.

No Menids?

SRH’s decision to include Mendis in the playing XI for the game against CSK paid off. However, they might have to reconsider the decision to name him in the XI against GT, especially since the conditions are different in Ahmedabad.

SRH’s bowling line-up is expected to comprise of the pacer trio of Shami-Cummins-Harshal. Zeeshan Ansari will be lone specialist spinner in the side.
