Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player Shahid Afridi faced a massive blow on Wednesday (30th April). The Indian government has banned his YouTube channel in the country following the terror attack that took place in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir.

The tragic incident in Pahalgam saw terrorists opening fire on people from different parts of the country who were there enjoying their vacation. As many as 28 people lost their lives in the attack.

Following this, India has curtailed ties with Pakistan, and many cricketers shared their take on the incident, openly raising their voices to stop playing with the Men in Green. Not only this, the government has been making sure that people from Pakistan don’t earn a single penny from India as well.

Indian government has banned the YouTube channels of ex-Pakistan players

The Indian government has banned the YouTube channels of all people from Pakistan, including some cricketers. Recently, Shoaib Akhtar faced the same, and now the former captain of Men in Green, Shahid Afridi, has also faced the same fate, as his content won’t be visible in India now.

This comes after Shahid Afridi made a shocking claim about the Indian Army following the Pahalgam attack. The former Pakistan National Cricket Team player blamed the army for the attack, saying that even if a firecracker bursts, India blames Pakistan.

You are inefficient and useless if you couldn’t provide security – Shahid Afridi

Shahid Afridi pointed out that almost 80000 army personnel are in Kashmir, and even after that, the attack took place, which suggests that it was their failure. Speaking on Samaa TV, he had said:

“Patakha phat jaata hai wahaan par, Pakistan ne kiya (Even if a firecracker bursts there, they will blame it on Pakistan).

“Tum logon ki 8 lakh ki fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log ki security de nahi sake logon ko (You have an 8,00,000-strong army in Kashmir and this still happened. It means you are inefficient and useless if you couldn’t provide security to the people),” he added.

Shahid Afridi also engaged in a feud with Shikhar Dhawan over his comments on the Indian Army

Shahid Afridi also engaged in a feud with Shikhar Dhawan over his comments. The former India National Cricket Team player lashed out at him, saying that he shouldn’t pass comments on India, especially when the situation in his own country isn’t right.

Coming to his professional career, Shahid Afridi was one of the biggest match winners for the Pakistan National Cricket Team. He is rated as one of the best six hitters in cricket and finished his career with 11,196 runs and 541 wickets to his name across formats in international cricket.
