Rinku Singh’s Struggle to Triumph
The 27-year-old UP-based cricketer was born in a humble background in Aligarh back in October 1997. His father was a cylinder distributor from door to door, while the cricketer himself helped his father initially in the job.
Rinku, despite working all odd jobs, had an undying passion for cricket, which finally earned him a spot on the field, where he rose to prominence after displaying some stunning performances. His first recognizable performance came after winning a title in the International School Cricket.
Following this, he played years of domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh after being scouted as a unique talent by the Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR bought Rinku back in 2018, and since then, the player has been a part of the setup.
Rinku Singh rose to prominence in the IPL after a dominating performance in the IPL 2023, where he scored more than 450 runs and won several close finishes against various oppositions.
In 2022 as well, he scored 174 runs, averaging nearly 35; however, 2023 was his best season, where he scored 474 runs, averaging 60 at a strike rate of nearly 150. Rinku has played 59 IPL matches and scored 1099 runs, with a strike rate of 145.18.

Rinku Singh’s not-so-successful stint with KKR
Rinku Singh, ever since his selection in the Indian side, has played 28 matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL seasons of 2024 and 2025. However, his show has been disheartening to the fans, as though the striker never saw a dip in his strike rate.
He was largely entrusted with the role of finishing games for the Knight Riders; however, despite KKR winning the title in IPL 2024, Rinku didn’t have the best of seasons with the bat. Having starred in 15 games, the batter managed only 168 runs and averaged only 18.67.
The latest season marked a bit of a return for Rinku; however, the batter averaged nearly 30 and had a favourable strike rate of 153.73.
