Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a narrow two-run victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their recent IPL 2025 match on May 3 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting first, RCB posted 213/5, with half-centuries from Virat Kohli, Jacob Bethell, and Romario Shepherd, who scored 50 off just 14 balls.
In response, CSK were on track with Ayush Mhatre and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease, needing 54 runs from 30 balls. However, RCB’s bowlers delivered in the death overs, restricting CSK to 211/5 and clinching the victory.
Although the win did not improve RCB’s net run rate, it brought them two crucial points. They have a total of 16 points and nearly secured their playoff spot.

Following the cancellation of the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala on May 8, an emergency meeting was held on Friday, May 9, where a crucial decision was made to suspend the ongoing season.
The growing conflict between India and Pakistan, which had led to missile interceptions and a heightened security situation, prompted the Indian Armed Forces to initiate blackout protocols. With fear escalating among overseas players, the BCCI took steps to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
The severity of the situation led the governing body to make the decision to suspend the IPL. An official confirmation from the BCCI regarding the suspension will be released soon.
