Rishabh Pant’s IPL 2025 rollercoaster continues to tilt downward after another disappointing outing, this time against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. Coming off a promising return to form with a 63 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), expectations were high for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain.

Poor IPL 2025 continues for Pant, the batter

But he managed just 3 runs off 9 balls before falling to Wanindu Hasaranga in the 8th over — undone by a premeditated reverse sweep that found the edge, sharply caught by Dhruv Jurel. Jurel did a fantastic job in holding out the edge that came quickly to him off Pant’s willow.

Pant’s tournament has been a nightmare so far. In seven innings, he’s managed only 106 runs at an average of 15.14 and a strike rate of 89.08 — unthinkable numbers for a player of his calibre, let alone for the world’s costliest franchise player in T20 history. He’s now been dismissed caught in all seven of his innings, a sign of poor shot selection and mounting pressure.
