Now, following the Operation Sindoor by the Indian forces in the wee hours of Wednesday, the IPL 2025 match between PBKS and MI has been shifted from Dharamsala to Mumbai. The match was supposed to take place in the HPCA Stadium, between the two sides on May 11, which is not possible now.

Operation Sindoor Sees Shift in Venue for IPL 2025

As per the sources in the BCCI, even the matches to be held in Mumbai, will not take place at the Wankhede Stadium, but at the DY Patil Stadium or the Brabourne Stadium. Meanwhile, this might not be the only match getting affected. The BCCI is in touch with the centre, to reschedule the PBKS vs DC match on May 8 too.

It is important to note that Dharamsala is only 60 km away from the India-Pakistan border, and it may not be the best idea to play the match, with the stadium lights on, especially after the solid response by the Indian forces.

PBKS Matches Affected

Meanwhile, this could be a setback for the PBKS side, since Dharamsala was their home ground. While the other teams would get that edge, they would have to contend playing away matches, due to the current circumstances. Having said that, the Shreyas Iyer-led team is in a good position to make the playoffs, since they have won 7 in 11 matches, and are on 15 points.

Another win would ensure that they sail through, and would like to finish in top 2 only. For now, they are in third position, behind GT and RCB.
