
The ICC has once again fined a team for a slow over rate; this time, the West Indies are fined 10% of their match fees for a slow over rate in the fourth T20I against Australia.
The fourth T20I of the ongoing series between Australia and hosts West Indies once again ended in favour of the Aussies. The Men in Yellow have emerged as winners in 7 games straight, while the Windies have suffered not only losses but also the toll of ICC punishments.
West Indies fined for slow over rate by ICC
The T20Is between these two teams might have gone only in favour of the Aussies till now, despite that the matches have been very high-scoring, with Australia chasing down 200+ runs successfully.
In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player support personnel, which corresponds to the minimum over-rate offenses, players are fined 5% of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time phase.
West Indies skipper Shai Hope accepted the sanctions proposed by the ICC match officials, avoiding any further need for a formal hearing on the matter.
