MS Dhoni once again proved why he is the greatest wicket-keeper all time in the KKR vs CSK clash at Eden Gardens. The Chennai Super Kings captain was instrumental behind the stumps, changing his side’s fortunes. At 43, Dhoni continued set records for wicket-keeping, with yet another milestone breached on Wednesday.

Dhoni affects 200 dismissals in IPL

MS Dhoni became the first wicket-keeper to effect 200 dismissals in IPL. The 43-year-old had 198 dismissals before the KKR vs CSK game in Eden Gardens. Dhoni reached the milestone in the 8th over of the innings. Sunil Narine was stumped after being caught off the crease by Noor Ahmad. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was then caught behind 2 balls later to make it 200 dismissals for the CSK skipper.

Dhoni has 153 catches and 47 stumpings to his name, both individually the most by a keeper in the IPL. The next best is Dinesh Karthik, who retired last season with RCB. Karthik had 174 dismissals to his name, with 137 catches and 37 stumpings. Among active cricketers, Rishabh Pant currently has 100 dismissals. The LSG skipper however, has to affect 100 more to be in MS Dhoni’s league.
