Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill is expected to play in the clash against SRH on Friday, team director Vikram Solanki said. The prolific batter did not take the field in the previous game against RR as he suffered a back spasm. GT are currently 4th placed on the points table and will be looking to jump to the 2nd with a win against SRH.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, GT director Solanki said that the team was trying to be very careful with Gill. He said that the GT captain is expected to participate in training on Thursday after which he will be evaluated. The GT official said the team was confident that Gill would be fit for the clash against SRH.
“His fitness, there was a bit of a back spasm. We’re just trying to be careful with it. He’ll be at training today. We’ll just see where he’s at. We’re reasonably confident that he’s going to be OK,” said Solanki.
Gill has been consistent so far in IPL 2025 and seems to have struck the chord in the right time. He has amassed 389 runs from 9 matches, including four fifties to his name. He averages 48.62 in this season.
“Felt a little back spasm in my back and we have a game couple of days after this, so the physio didn’t want to take a chance,” Gill had said after the game against RR.
