The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have postponed the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) amid the ongoing tension between the two nations. The BCCI might not take part in the Asia Cup 2025 and has helped Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) players get back from Dharamshala. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi has received a bomb threat, and Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to continue playing for Mumbai in domestic cricket.

BCCI sends players home; IPL 2025 to be cancelled or moved to England?

The BCCI has suspended IPL 2025 for one week. However, it could have been cancelled. Arun Dhumal claims that there was a conversation about ending the tournament early, but in the end, they decided to halt it. The BCCI has told the players, both Indian and foreign, to return home. In the meantime, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has shown interest in hosting the remainder of IPL 2025. Former England captain Michael Vaughan also likes the idea.

PSL 2025 postponed indefinitely

After stating that PSL 2025 will be shifted from Pakistan to the UAE, the PCB has confirmed that the tournament has been postponed indefinitely. Just 8 matches were left, which were to be played in the UAE. However, reports suggest that the Emirates Cricket Board has denied the option of hosting the event.

Asia Cup 2025 to be cancelled?

Given the current state of relations between India and Pakistan, the chances of the Asia Cup 2025 going through as planned seemed virtually impossible. And given that IPL 2025 has been suspended, the BCCI could use the 19-day window of the Asia Cup in September to complete the remaining matches of the IPL.
