RR thinks that Sanju Samson’s exit won’t cause any issue for them in IPL 2026. The inaugural champions reckon that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will open, and Dhruv Jurel can be their wicketkeeper. Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, who they got in return from CSK, will balance what they miss out on with Samson.

After the Karnataka government granted KSCA permission to host matches at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, it is expected that the venue will host Vijay Hazare Trophy games. Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant are likely to play 3 matches. Their presence could see Delhi’s matches shift from Alur to Bengaluru.

Although Rohit Sharma hasn’t confirmed it yet, he’s expected to play for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. MCA expects Rohit to play a couple of matches as preparation for the India vs New Zealand ODI series, which will commence on January 11.

Mohammad Kaif thinks it’s time for the Indian management to drop Shubman Gill and pick Sanju Samson after the former has disappointed since his return in the 2025 Asia Cup. Aakash Chopra also questioned Suryakumar Yadav, stating that it’s a captain’s job to flick the coin at the toss but also to make runs.

PCB has complained to ICC about Salman Ali Agha, Pakistan’s T20I captain, being omitted from the promotional poster for the sale of T20 World Cup 2026 tickets. The ICC poster featured captains of India, South Africa, Australia, England, and Sri Lanka, leaving PCB unhappy.

The ICC has announced the nominees for the 2025 ODI Cricketer of the Year Award. Only one Indian features in the 10-man list: Virat Kohli, Matthew Breetzke, Joe Root, Shai Hope, Daryl Mitchell, Matt Henry, Adil Rashid, Sikandar Raza, Mitchell Santner, and Jayden Seales.
