Young South African star Dewald Brevis has officially ended his IPL 2025 stint, returning to his home after the tournament was suspended for a week due to the war between India and Pakistan. With the IPL 2025 currently suspended and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) already knocked out of the playoffs race, Dewald Brevis bid farewell to his stint early.
The 21-year-old Proteas batting sensation made a quick but memorable impact in the IPL 2025. Brevis had joined CSK mid-season as an injury replacement for Gurjapneet Singh. Despite the limited time, he managed to leave a mark with his energy, talent, and connection with the fans.

Dewald Brevis shines bright in the IPL 2025
Meanwhile, Dewald Brevis may have played only four matches in IPL 2025, but he made a big impact, scoring 126 runs at an impressive strike rate of 163.63. His standout moment came against Kolkata Knight Riders, where he smashed a fiery 50 off just 22 balls.

He had smashed 30 runs in an over against Vaibhav Arora. While Chennai Super Kings have struggled this season with only 3 wins from 12 games, Brevis has emerged as a positive. On the other hand, the BCCI has suspended IPL 2025 with immediate effect after tensions between India and Pakistan escalated quickly. The decision came soon after the 58th match of the season between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings was cancelled midway in Dharamsala.
It is being said that the BCCI is planning to complete the remaining 16 matches this month if the border situation improves in the coming days.
