The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in a spot of bother amid the tensions between India and Pakistan. Things got more intense during the game between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which took place at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) clashed in the 58th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Thursday, 8th May. The game between the two teams was called off in between the first innings due to the cross-border tensions, but the BCCI mentioned that the game was abandoned due to floodlight issues.

The fans at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala were also told to leave the Stadium.
The fans were evacuated quickly from the stadium, and now the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come up with a special arrangement to take players and others involved out of the state.

As per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will organise a special train from Una to take everybody home safely. The information was confirmed by vice-president Rajeev Shukla, who also said that players’ safety is of utmost importance. He said:
“We are organising a special train from Una, which is not far from Dharamsala, to bring everybody home safely. As of now, the match has been called off, and the stadium has been evacuated.
“We will take a call on the tournament’s future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players’ safety is utmost important,” says BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla.
Players of Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are safe in the team hotel
The reports also claimed that players of Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are safe in the team hotel, and there are no blackout protocols in place. Both franchises are awaiting details from the BCCI, and only after that, will the action be taken.
Coming to the game between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), the hosts had a fantastic outing with the bat. The Shreyas Iyer-led side opted to bat first and were off to a flying start with the bat. Openers in Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya came out all guns blazing and put the opposition under pressure.
Prabhsimran Singh (50*) and Priyansh Arya (70) slammed brutal half-centuries and put Delhi Capitals bowlers under pressure. The duo added 122 runs for the opening partnership in 10.1 overs before the game got called off.
It remains to be seen what will be future of the IPL 2025. The reports claimed that BCCI has conducted a meeting and a decision will be taken soon.
