On Thursday, June 26, Cricket South Africa (CSA) officially announced a 14-man squad for the T20I tri-series against the New Zealand National Cricket Team and the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team.
The veteran batter Rassie van der Dussen has been appointed as the captain of the second-string South Africa National Cricket Team for the upcoming T20I tri-series.

CSA selectors hand four maiden T20I call-ups
The Cricket South Africa selection committee has handed maiden T20I call-ups to Corbin Bosch, Lhuan-dré Pretorius, Rubin Hermann and Senuran Muthusamy for the tri-series, which will take place in Harare from July 14 to 26.
Also, star pacers Gerald Coetzee and Nandre Burger have been included in the squad as the duo are set to make their international cricket comeback after 8 and 11 months. Notably, the pacers had missed out on action for the Proteas due to injury and will be aiming to do a good job in the absence of Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen.
The Proteas batting unit will be headlined by the return of youngster Dewald Brevis, who has been in good form in franchise cricket of late, as the likes of Aiden Markram, batters Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and David Miller will be missing the series.
In the spin-bowling department, South Africa have picked Muthusamy, George Linde, and Nqabayomzi Peter with an eye on the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
“Having three quality spin options gives us a great deal of variety, especially in conditions like Harare,” Proteas head coach Conrad said in a statement.
The tri-series in Zimbabwe will be the first T20I assignment of Shukri Conrad, who was recently appointed as the all-format head coach following the departure of Rob Walter, who has joined New Zealand as head coach.
Meanwhile, the Proteas players will be taking part in a two-day camp in Pretoria on July 9 and 10 before leaving for Zimbabwe.
“The squad will assemble for a two-day camp at the Centre of Excellence in Pretoria from 09 – 10 July under the guidance of SA A head coach Wandile Gwavu, before departing for Harare on 11 July,” CSA said in an official statement.
