Rishabh Pant becomes the first Indian keeper with 800 rating points

In the Test series opener against the English team at Headingley in Leeds, Rishabh Pant hit twin tons. He batted in his classic unorthodox fashion in the first innings and scored 134 runs off 178 balls, playing a key role in India reaching 471 runs despite a shocking collapse.

In the second innings, Rishabh Pant once again showcased his batting brilliance and dragged India out of trouble by stitching up a solid 195-run stand with KL Rahul.

Pant showed his different version en route to his second ton in the match as he faced a lot of balls in the 90s before completing his ton off 130 deliveries. He became only the second wicketkeeper-batsman to hit twin tons in a Test match after Andy Flower.

His performances helped him move up to the 7th spot in the ICC Test Batting Rankings, with 801 rating points under his belt. With this, he has become the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to reach 800 rating points in Test cricket history.

Ben Duckett jumps to the No.8 spot

England opening batsman Ben Duckett has jumped five places to the 8th position in the Test batting rankings after his Player of the match heroics in the Leeds Test against India. He has reached 787 rating points, which is a new career-high for him.

Other than England and India players, Mushfiqur Rahim jumped 11 spots to move to 28th position in the batting rankings, and Najmul Hossain Shanto moved up 21 places to bag 29th spot following their brilliant show with the bat against Sri Lanka.
