The 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 witnessed a clash between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, May 1.
Rajasthan Royals won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match. They were unable to make the most of the decision as the bowlers were taken to the cleaners by Mumbai Indians batters Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya.
Ryan Rickelton (61) and Rohit Sharma (53) built a solid 116-run partnership for the opening wicket and laid a foundation for the big score.
Suryakumar Yadav (48* off 23) and Hardik Pandya (48* off 23) capitalized on the momentum given by the opening duo and took the team to a big score of 217/2. For the Rajasthan Royals, Maheesh Theekshana and Riyan Parag got one wicket each.
Chasing the target, the Rajasthan Royals had a horrible outing as the Mumbai Indians bowlers dominated. Vaibhav Suryvanshi, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, and Shubham Dubey got out inside 8 overs, and RR were left reeling at 64/6.
Eventually, Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for 117 in 16.1 overs despite a good fight from Jofra Archer (30) and faced a colossal 100-run loss. For MI, Trent Boult (3), Karn Sharma (3), Jasprit Bumrah (2), Deepak Chahar (1), and Hardik Pandya were among the wickets.
