Runs from one side, then big runs from the other, well, that’s what the IPL is all about. When one solid team puts up a huge score, the other often responds in style, smashing the bowlers all over the park. That’s exactly what happened today.
Lucknow Super Giants lit up the Eden Gardens stage by smashing 238 runs in their 20 overs. But the story didn’t end there. When Kolkata Knight Riders, last year’s champions, came out to chase, they too went after the LSG bowlers with intent. They came really close to pulling off a memorable win, scoring 234 runs, but ultimately fell short, losing the game by 4 runs.
What stood out was the match aggregate, a total of 472 runs scored in 40 overs. And while it’s not the first time we’ve seen such high combined totals, take a look at the list of highest combined scores in IPL matches.
